COVID-19 Directive – Leuenberger Air Service Guests
As we all navigate through this time during COVID-19 it is necessary to provide information and procedures that will assist in keeping everyone safe while still enjoying vacations with family and friends. As we follow the guidelines set out by our governments the following changes will be taking place with our business. Please review all of the information provided in this document as there will be strict guidelines we must all follow in order to assist in flattening the curve of COVID-19.
Face Masks
Face Masks MUST be worn at all times when checking in, loading, unloading, AND while on the aircraft. You must provide your own mask. Without a mask, you will be denied boarding.
Check-In
Only the head of the group will be permitted into the office to check in your party. If someone is already in the office, please make sure to follow social distancing of 2 meters, a face mask or covering must be worn.
Payments
We would prefer all payments to be contactless, which would include e-transfers and or VISA with surcharge (one week prior to trip).
If you are unable to pay via e-transfer or VISA, we can still accept Cashier Cheques and/or Cash, however that process would be done the following way:
The head of the group ONLY will be permitted into the office to process payment
Restroom
The Restroom inside the office is closed to all individuals. There will be a designated restroom area outside, with a hand sanitization station set up.
Waiting Area
The waiting area inside the office is closed, other than check in. We ask that all guests either remain in their vehicles until they depart and/or make sure to be practicing social distancing, especially if you are not a part of another group. This includes no hugging, kissing or hand shaking of any kind and to practice proper sanitizing/hygiene.
Outpost Guests
We will provide you with Clorox/bleach to wipe down the cabin/boat before you leave. We will be asking you to CLEAN DISHES rinsing in hot water with 1/4 cup of bleach for the next group. YOU must bring your own personal sanitizing/cleaning products for use during your stay.
Lodge Guests
Weekly Fish Fry, Main Lodge Access, Meal Plans
2021 Health Unit Advisories and Government Mandates will determine this.
Towels/Bedding
2021 Season: We are unable to provide: comforters, pillows and towels at this time, so please be sure to bring your own sleeping bags, pillows and towels/face cloths. YOU must bring your own personal sanitizing/cleaning products for use during your stay. We will continue to provide sheets, however we will require guests to remove bedding at the end of their stay and place this bedding into the clear plastic bags that will be provided.
Going forward into the 2021 season once again we will follow the Health Unit Advisories.
Social Distancing
We will be asking all guests to adhere to social distancing (no hugging, kissing or hand shaking), make sure to remain at minimum 2 meters from all other guests and staff along with practicing proper sanitization/hygiene at all times.

The Leuenbergers
**Please note that due to Health Unit Advisories, processes and procedures are subject to change with limited notice.
Baggage weight limit is 120 pounds per person, which includes all food and beverages, overweight charges will apply and be strictly enforced.
If you and your party are overweight a Cessna charter would be required to bring in the access baggage. The cost would be dependent on how many miles away from Nakina your vacation is taking place. As an example, if your vacation was 30 miles from Nakina, you would be charged a total of 60 miles at the current mileage rate for the Cessna, as it is a return trip. At the current rates, this overweight charge could cost upwards of $375.
Boxes, suitcases, coolers or duffel bags are all great ways to pack, keep in mind they must be kept to a manageable size and not exceed 50 pounds each.
One piece rods are allowed, however it is much safer to bring rods that can be broken down to avoid any damages.
Fishing licenses should be purchased online and printed out for you to have on you during your vacation, there are physical sites you can attend to purchase these if you prefer and all information can be found below:
Accomodations:
Pennocks Tourist Service in Nakina has a motel for overnighters. They also have a small convenience store for last minute snacks.
Restaurant/Grocery:
Nakina does not have any of these amenities at this time. The last stop for groceries is in Geraldton at No Frills or Daneffs.
Liquor/Beer:
Nakina has a full service liquor/beer store in town, however hours of operation vary. If you are arriving late we can assist in picking up your refreshments for you ahead of time, just let us know!
We run 14 foot aluminum boats with 9.9 HP motors at the outpost locations.
Kagianagami Lodge runs 14 or 16 foot aluminum boats with 15 HP motors.
Boat seats are not supplied at outpost camps, however they are provided up at the Lodge on Kagianagami
Live bait can be used, however it needs to meet the requirements of the Ontario Fishing Regulations, link to regulations found here:
We do have minnows for sale at our base in Nakina, however we do suggest pre-ordering to make sure the supplier has enough available.
We drop in mid week to resupply the propane and motor gas as well as cut the grass and do any minor repairs as needed.
Rates are in Canadian Currency, we accept cash and e-transfers for payment.
If you prefer to use a MasterCard or VISA, we will gladly accept however do require an additional 5% service fee.
Deposits are $300 per person- there is no additional service fee for these payments. Deposits are non-refundable.
Groups with less than 4 members are subject to an additional $300 per person surcharge
Do you provide lifejackets?
No, you must bring your own approved PFD
Is ice available?
Cubed ice is available at the main base in Nakina.
Is there electricity in the cabins?
No there is not, however we do have solar power for lights.
There is electricity up at the Lodge, powered by generators.
Is there running water?
Each outpost has running water and a shower. The water is not potable as it is gravity fed from a holding tank. You must bring water with you or boil water from the lake.
The water at Kagianagami Lodge is safe to drink.
Is there internet/cell service?
No there is no cell service once you leave Nakina, and the only internet available is up at the Lodge.
Is there a fridge and stove?
Yes, each outpost cabin has a full propane stove with oven and a propane refrigerator with a small freezing compartment.
Each cabin at Kagianagami Lodge has a full sized fridge/freezer.
Do you supply generators?
No we do not, but you are welcome to bring your own, keeping in mind weight limits.
